We, as a newly opened firm with a great deal of competition, strive to make buying as smooth and as easy to our customers as possible with new initiatives as to how the auction is presented and to how much information is provide in regards to the property present in the auction for sale.
After setting the viewing and auction date of the upcoming sale, we will try to upload the fully described, estimated and illustrated catalogue in our website at least 7 days prior to the viewing so that our clients may benefit from a first glance at the property listed for sale.
As the viewing date sets in, we host a 3/5 day open house viewing to the general public to come and view and personally inspect the property listed for sale.
We will, of course, provide a fully illustrated catalogue with detailed description and estimation prices of each lot so as to compare with the actual viewed items.
The estimations listed in the catalogue are based on prices recently paid at auction for comparable property. They can take into account rarity, condition, quality and provenance. The RESERVE is the price below which a lot will not sell. Since it is confidential, it is not published in the catalogue. The reserve will never exceed the low estimate.
As to the description, either stated in the catalogue or said verbally during the auction, while we strive to describe each and every property consigned in the best possible way through our hard earned knowledge and thorough research in this sector, it must be taken into consideration, however, that we are unable to do extensive research on the same level undertaken by professional historians and scholars. We, therefore, suggest that if you have any doubt, particularly in the case that the property in question is of significant value, you refer to your trusted restorer, professional advisor or expert prior to bidding.

Commission/Absentee bids are great if you cannot attend the auction or are not available to participate on the telephone. A written bid is simply your maximum bid willing to pay. The auction, unless otherwise stated on the catalogue, takes place at our auction rooms in Luqa at 4:30 in the afternoon.
We suggest to whomever is attending the auction to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the auction to register a paddle number and to find yourself a good seat.
Registering a paddle number, if new to Centurion auctions, requires some form of a valid identification such as a national ID card, driving license, passport etc.
We will try to do our best to ensure that all placed bids are seen and databased accordingly, yet, we urge all the participants to please place bids by raising their registered paddle number and by no other form of signs so there will be no confusion or any misunderstanding. A simple salut or a gesture to a fellow friend could be easily mistaken to a bid. Please ensure that the auctioneer acknowledges you before putting down your paddle number.
During the auction, as a new innovation never introduced to the auction scene before, we will be displaying, on a full HD 70" monitor, a 360° video stream instead of the common 1D photo imaging for presenting the actual lot being offered for sale. This innovation gives buyers the opportunity to see the item being offered for sale in every possible angle on a large scale to assess further its condition and detail.
As soon as the auction session comes to an end, you, the successful buyer, can either pay and collect the purchased lot/s soon after the auction, pay and collect on the next day from 9am till 12pm (in case that in the afternoon there is another session) or within 3 days of the end of the auction from 9am till 3pm.
Successful bidders will be obliged to pay the hammer price together with a 5% auctioneers commission plus a further 18% VAT on the said commission. Therefore, if you fetch something at €1000, you have €50 as auctioneers commission plus €9 VAT on commission, for a total of €1059.
Please take into account that when you register with Centurion Auctioneers to participate in any of their auctions, bid, either in person, on the telephone or with an absentee bid, you are entering into a contract to pay and buy any particular lot should the hammer fall on your last bid. Failing to pay and collect any lots bought withing 3 days of collections after the last day of the auction, storage fees of €2 per lot per day will apply (in case of a private event, packing and transport fees to the storage premises will apply). No lots will be released if invoice and the above mentioned fees are not fully settled. Further more, in the event that the successful buyer refuses to pay the above mentioned fees together with the respective invoice after 2 weeks, legal action against the said buyer will be taken.
As for packing and transport, you can either ask for an in-house quotation (professionally packed and dispatched using Maltapost Express Shipping Service if overseas or one of our reliable land couriers if localy) or you can choose your own trusted courier.
